| Who's Who Nancy
LasseterCoordinator, Mind/Body Renewal Nancy, as an Artist in Residence at Shands at UF, is the Coordinator of the Mind and Body Renewal Programs for staff and families of patients. In 2005, she founded the popular Mobile Relaxation Station, where patient unit conference rooms are transformed into a serene space using soft lighting and music. Staff is offered chair massage, relaxation with a self-regulated foot and back massager, hot tea and nature DVD viewing. Nancy also directs a program called Comfort Zone, which supports families and staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This program offers chair massage and music for staff and families. On Monday mornings in the Shands at UF chapel, Nancy leads an hour meditation for staff, families and patients.
She is a singer, percussionist and songwriter and is currently a member of the all women’s acapello group “Council of Stones.” Nancy has been a part of AIM since 1996, originally starting as a volunteer with her musical group “The Recycled Trash Queens” that created and played recycled instruments with Shands pediatric patients.
