Dermatology
Dermatology is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. A dermatologist is a
medical doctor who specializes in skin, hair and nail care, specially trained to provide the full spectrum of skin
care.
The UF Department of Dermatology at Shands offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients
with skin-related problems or diseases. Physicians have subspecialty training and experience in skin, hair and nail
diseases, both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, wrinkle, scar and age spot removal, pediatric dermatology,
reconstructive surgery, chemical peels and sclerotherapy.
