  • Reactions to medications
  • Problems breathing

Risks for any surgery are:

  • Bleeding
  • Infection

Additional risks include:

  • Incomplete healing of the hole in the eardrum
  • Damage to the small bones in the middle ear, causing hearing loss
  • Need for further surgery
