Higher-than-normal urinary uric acid levels may indicate:

  • Cancers that have spread (metastasized)
  • Myelogenous and lymphoproliferative disorders
  • High-purine diet
  • Gout
  • Rhabdomyolysis
  • Lesch-Nyhan syndrome
  • Fanconi syndrome

Lower-than-normal urinary uric acid levels may indicate:
