Newborn Care

The newborn care class is a one-time, two-hour class that provides a glimpse of what life will be like with a newborn. Taught before the baby is born, this class gives parents an opportunity to ask questions before the baby is brought home. The program reviews a variety of concepts including:

  • Newborn characteristics
  • Personality and development
  • Bathing
  • Feeding
  • Diapering
  • Crying
  • Sleeping and waking patterns
  • Choosing a pediatrician

*You do not need to register separately for the breastfeeding class, the newborn care class, or the Infant CPR and safety class. The information from those three classes is covered in the childbirth education class.

The cost for this class is $20, but the fee can be waived in special circumstances.
