Sports Medicine

The sports medicine specialist at the center is a University of Florida-trained physician board certified in Sports Medicine and a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. He has trained high school and collegiate athletes and has helped athletes of all ages and expertise recover from injuries.

A team of professionals provides sports medicine services that include, but are not limited to:

• Pre-participation physicals
• Tendon and muscle injuries treatment
• Fracture management, including casting and splinting
• Concussion management
• Exercise-induces asthma treatment
• Return-to-play guidelines

Musculoskeletal Medicine Services

Musculoskeletal medicine is a branch of medicine dealing with problems relating to pain or dysfunction in the muscles, bones and joints of the body. Musculoskeletal medicine deals with difficult pain problems, like back pain.

The team of professionals provides musculoskeletal services that are intended to help patients lead active lifestyles. These services include, but are not limited to:

• Management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, including:
• Arthritis
• Back injuries
• Bone diseases
• Bursitis
• Foot care
• Joint diseases
• Tendonitis
• Exercise prescriptions
• Joint injections
• Hyaluronic acid injections for knee osteoarthritis
