| Neonatal / Peds Transport Team
The Neonatal/Pediatric Team consists of a highly-skilled neonatal
nurse (RN)and respiratory therapists (RT), who are trained in Pediatric Advanced Life Support,
advanced airway management techniques, chest tube placement, and have met all state EMS guidelines
for neonatal/pediatric transports. The team is responsible for the transport of critically-ill
newborn infants to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), but is also responsible for some
maternal and pediatric transports. ShandCair has been authorized by the state to provide
transportation services to other Level III centers that do not have long distance transport
capabilities for their critically ill newborns.
