ATV Safety

  • Wear protective gear
  • Take a safety course
  • Drive only when physically fit and able to judge distances
  • Do a pre-ride inspection
  • Do not drink alcohol
  • Travel off-road only!
  • Travel only during the daylight hours
  • Never be a passenger!


Bike Safety

  • Always wear safety gear
  • Always wear a helmet
  • Never ride alone; take a buddy
  • Stop at all stop signs and lights
  • Ensure all cars are stopped
  • Look left, then right, then left again


Water Safety

  • Learn to swim
  • Never swim alone!
  • Obey all rules
  • Stay out of water if tired, too cold, or too far from safety
  • Don’t swim in bad weather
  • Don’t drink alcohol


Car Safety

  • Always wear your seat belt
  • Be polite
  • Do not jump around and make a lot of noise
  • Kids: always listen to your parents!


Additional Safety Tips

  • Kids: always tell your parents where you are going: Who, What, Where, How, & When
  • Know your home address and phone number
  • Use the buddy system
  • Always cross the street at a crosswalk
  • Always look and make sure all cars are stopped
  • Never go anywhere with a stranger
  • It is always better to be safe then SORRY!
