Shands at the University of Florida is recognized for the quality of

and treatment. Our general and specialty neurology services are staffed by experienced neurologists
who provide consultation and treatment for patients with a variety of complex neurological conditions.
Superb clinical neurologists are available to consult with your primary care physician for diagnosis
and management of the full range of neurological problems, including numbness, weakness, tremor, memory
loss, seizures, headaches and other symptoms that may result from a wide range of neurological diseases
such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, migraine, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, peripheral
neuropathy, myasthenia, or myopathy. Appointments are made upon referral from a primary care physician,
with availability within one to three weeks.
Our general neurologists are highly qualified to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of neurological
disorders. If sub-specialty neurological care is required, we have the following specialty clinics:
Specialty clinics in Neurology are for patients who require sub-specialty expertise to diagnose
and treat compelx neuromuscular disorders such as unusual movement disorders, rare forms of dementia,
dystonia, or complex neuromuscular disorders. Specialty clinics are available in:

- Movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease, tremor, and others)
- Neuromuscular disorders (peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, myasthenia)
