What is a Thermometer?

A nurse or PCA will need to measure your temperature. PCA stands for Patient Care Assistant. This is someone who helps the nurse.
A thermometer will be used to see how warm the inside of your body is.
The thermometer will be placed under your tongue or under your arm.

This will only take a minute to do and will not hurt.
Once this is done, a nurse or PCA will read the numbers on the machine to find out your body temperature.
