Shands Rehab Center

Professionals at the Shands Rehab Center provide both inpatient and outpatient rehab care. The outpatient rehab center is across the street from the hospital in the Medical Plaza North Building. Therapists provide a full range of physical therapy services to patients of all ages. Professionals aim to improve the quality of life for patients of all ages dealing with the effects of trauma or disease.

Services include, but are not limited to:

Occupational therapy Physical therapy
Speech and language pathology Swallow evaluations for adults and children
Wheelchair evaluations Assistive device evaluation and fitting
Massage therapy  

Our professionals manage treatments for patients who are experiencing:

Stroke (CVA) Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
Orthopedic injuries Hip or knee replacement
Wound care Back and neck pain
Sports injuries Medically complex conditions
Neurological conditions Amputations
Injury from auto accidents Work-related injuries
Pregnancy-related back pain  

Shands Rehab Center for Kids

Pediatric Rehab is a comprehensive approach through which physical, occupational and speech-language pathologists treat children with special needs. Our therapists work together to ensure maximum progress toward the child’s developmental goals.

Shands for Kids at Shands Lake Shore brings together a team of dedicated professionals who focus on helping patients improve through therapeutic interventions while dealing with the effects of illness or injury. As patients continue to recover from the effects of illness or injury, we provide them with the tools needed to improve their lives and become more independent.
