Volunteer Services places volunteers throughout Shands facilities in the Gainesville area, including Shands at UF, Cancer Tower, Shands Medical Plaza and Cancer Center, and other Shands clinics.

Our volunteers range from teens to adults, and include men and women with diverse backgrounds and skills.

Thank you for your interest in providing a Special Event for the patients at Shands Children's Hospital UF, as these events carry a special meaning for hospitalized children and adolescents. Special events are considered one time volunteer opportunities in which groups come to interact with the patients of Shands Children's Hospital. If you wish to put on a special event, please fill out Special Event Application so we can determine your needs and do our best to meet them.

Please review the Special Event Application in order to understand the guidelines and restrictions. All Special Event visits must be approved and scheduled in advance. You and/or the group's contact person will need to complete the Special Event Application and submit it to Volunteer Services two weeks or more prior to the event.
