Panic disorders are marked by unexpected attacks of fear, panic attacks
and the constant fear of having these attacks. These panic attacks are frightening when they occur.
During an attack, the person experiences:
- Sense of terror or doom
- Rapid heartbeat
- Sweating
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Shallow breathing
- Feelings of approaching death, losing control or 'going crazy'
There is no way to predict when a panic attack will happen.
