The inpatient pharmacy has multiple decentralized pharmacy satellites strategically located throughout the Shands at the University of Florida campus. We offer a highly interactive workplace, providing a variety of services dedicated to excellence in patient care:
An automated dispensing system directly interfaces with our computers, allowing the pharmacy team to monitor medications at the unit level. And our central sterile preparation area promotes USP 797 guidelines, with staff trained to achieve expected competency standards for a Class 10,000 operation that handles IV admixtures. Advanced clinical pharmacy services are also provided here, in complex specialty areas offering unique challenges to the expert pharmacist:
