Management Development Fellowship

This one-year Fellowship is available to RNs who demonstrate management potential, along with at least three years of experience here at Shands at the University of Florida. The program offers competency and skill development opportunities via:

management development classes
individual learning/career development plans
expert guest lectures
shadowing experiences with hospital leaders
attendance at selected leadership meetings
coaching by a Nurse Manager mentor
“mock interviewing” for an identified management position
an assigned project designed to build individual competencies

Each fellowship participant is also awarded a management development account of up to $1,000 for conference attendance, books/journals, professional membership fees and other related costs. Applications are accepted every August.
