SHANDS STARKE BEGINS PROJECT TO DOUBLE SIZE OF EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

STARKE, Fla.— Shands Starke broke ground Friday, Aug. 24, on a 4,300-square-foot addition that will more than double the size of its Emergency Department. The new area will add five exam rooms, a nursing station, a decontamination area for toxic or biohazardous incidents, a family bereavement room and a separate waiting room for patients and families. When the project is complete in May 2008, Shands Starke’s Emergency Department will have 10 private beds, including two isolation rooms. |
