Shands Lake Shore is in the design stage for the installation of a new in-house, cath-lab procedure suite. The plans are to be presented to AHCA and completion should take place in mid-2007. The hospital also is opening an Intermediate Care Unit with eight beds on the third floor. Complete of the unit is scheduled for the end of the calendar year.

Expanding its Boundaries

Shands Lake Shore is expanding its boundaries with a new 3,000-square-foot building. Construction began on a medical records building in January, and completion is expected to be in mid-May. Shands Lake Shore will use the vacated records area to build a new cath lab suite.
